Traffic Report:

The Department of Transportation has set-up a specific phone number for the Freeway Service Patrol -- its 841-HELP.  That’s 841-4357.  That number should be used instead of 911, except in emergencies.

 

The water main break on Lusitana Street has been repaired but the road has not yet been re-paved.  Lusitana will remain closed between Auwaiolimu and Pauoa Road until around noon.

 

ADVISORIES:

The westbound School Street exit from the H-1 freeway is completely closed until July 10th for retaining wall repairs. (24/7)

 

There will be lane closures on Farrington Highway today in the vicinity of the new North-South Road between 7 a.m and 3 p.m. (thru Thursday)

 

Today there will be left lane closures in both directions of Farrington Highway in the vicinity of Nanakuli Avenue for water line replacement work between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.  (thru Thursday)

 

There will be lane closures on Kahekili Highway today from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the north bound direction through the Temple Valley area.  (thru Thursday)

 

There will be intermittent lane closures for roadway work on Kalanianaole Highway in the vicinity of Hanauma Bay today between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.  (thru Thursday)

 

There will be intermittent lane closures in both directions for pavement work today between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Kamehameha Highway between Wahiawa and the Dole Plantation. (thru Thursday)

ADVISORIES FOR FRIDAY, JUNE 26 & THE WEEKEND:

Tonight the right lane of the H-1 eastbound will be closed from Kunia Road to the Waikele exit between 9pm and 4am.  (Fri night only)

 

Tomorrow expect delays on the Pali Highway Kailua-bound because of tree trimming operations between 7am and 1pm.  (Saturday only)

 

On Sunday there will be a three-lane closure of the H-1 freeway airport viaduct ewa-bound from the airport onramp to the Arizona Memorial exit from 6am until 10pm.  During that time the speed limit on the two remaining open lanes will be reduced to 15 miles per hour.  (Sunday only)

 

On Sunday morning there will be a bicycle race, the Pineapple Hill Road Race, that will close Kaukonahua Road between Wilikina Drive and Kamananui Road from 7:30am until 11am.  Traffic will be diverted to Kamehameha Highway.

There will be intermittent lane closures tonight on the H-1 ewa bound between Houghtailing and Ola Lane from 9pm until 4am for sign maintenance.  (thru Friday morning)

 

Expect slowdowns on Farrington Highway in both directions today in the vicinity of North-South Road between 8:30am and 3pm for construction work.  Traffic will be contra flowed at times (thru Friday)

ADVISORIES FOR FRIDAY 6/19 & THE WEEKEND:

FRIDAY

Tonight the Board of Water Supply will be working to repair a broken valve on Ala Wai Boulevard and starting at 8:30 only one lane of the Ala Will be open to traffic between Ohua Avenue and Liliuokalani.  Barring any unforeseen difficulties the work should be finished and all lanes reopened by morning.

SATURDAY

On Saturday evening it’s the Honolulu Olympic Day 5K Run sponsored by the City and County of Honolulu.  The course will be a loop around the lower campus area of UH-Manoa and will start at 5:30pm, ending at 7:30pm.  Approximately 300 runners are expected.

 

SUNDAY

On Sunday morning it’s the Aloha State Games 10K Run from 7am until 9am.  The race starts at Kapiolani Park, to Kahala, back around Diamond Head to the park.  200 runners expected.

 

On Sunday morning there will be a bicycle race along the windward coast on Kamehameha Highway from Malaekahana State Park to Kaaawa and back.  It starts at 7am and is expected to finish at 10am.  100 bicyclists are expected to take part.

 

On Sunday there will be a three-lane closure of the H-1 airport viaduct westbound from the airport onramp to the Arizona Memorial exit from 6am until 10pm for repaving work.  During that time the speed limit on the remaining two open lanes will be reduced to 15 miles per hour.  (Sunday only)

 

On Sunday night there will be intermittent left lane closures on the Moanalua freeway in both directions from 10pm until 2am from the Ala Kapuna overpass to Puuloa Road.  (Sunday night)

 

On the leeward coast expect delays through Nanakuli because of waterline replacement work.  There will be lane closures on Farrington Highway today from 8:30 until 3pm.  (Thru Friday)

 

 

On the windward side today there will be intermittent lane closures on Kahekili Highway in the Temple Valley area from 8:30am until 3pm for pavement work.  (Thru Friday)

There will be lane closures tonight on Moanalua Road at the Pono Street intersection from 5:30 until midnight for median repair work.  (Friday night only)

 

On Sunday there will be a three-lane closure of the H-1 airport viaduct westbound from the airport onramp to the Arizona Memorial exit from 6am until 10pm for repaving work.  During that time the speed limit on the remaining two open lanes will be reduced to 15 miles per hour.  (Sunday only)

The three leftmost lanes of the H-1 freeway eastbound will be closed tonight from 7pm until 3am from the Waiawa Road overpass to the Waimalu/Pearlridge exit.  During that time the speed limit on the remaining two open lanes will be reduced to 15 miles per hour.  (Thru Friday)

 

Today the right lane of the H-3 freeway townbound will be closed just before Hospital Rock from 9am until 1pm for maintenance on a camera.  (Thursday only)

 

On the leeward coast expect delays through Nanakuli because of waterline replacement work.  There will be lane closures on Farrington Highway today from 8:30 until 3pm.  (Thru Friday)

 

On the windward side today there will be intermittent lane closures on Kahekili Highway in the Temple Valley area from 8:30am until 3pm for pavement work.  (Thru Friday)

 

Expect slowdowns on Kalanianaole Highway in the vicinity of Hanauma Bay today from 8:30am until 3pm in both directions because of construction work.  (Thru Friday)

 

Several H-1 freeway ramps will be closed for repair work tonight from 9pm until 4am, including the 5th Avenue onramp to the H-1 ewa bound, the Pali exit ramp on the westbound H-1, and the Punchbowl onramp to the H-1 westbound. (Thurs night only)

ADVISORIES FOR FRIDAY & THE WEEKEND:

Tomorrow (Saturday) is the annual King Kamehameha Floral Parade.  One of Hawaii’s biggest parades, it goes from King and Richard Streets downtown to Kapiolani Park via King Street, Ala Moana Blvd and Kalakaua.  Six thousand marchers and over 60 vehicles and floats will take part.  It begins at 9:30 and will end at noon.

 

Sunday is the Hibiscus Half-Marathon and will include 800 runners.  It goes from Kapiolani park through Kahala and back starting at 6am and ending at 10am.

 

On Sunday there will be alternating three-lane closures on the H-1 freeway airport viaduct westbound from the airport onramp to the Arizona Memorial exit from 6am to 10pm.
